About the Job
Job Title: Content & Marketing Intern
Location: MUST BE BASED IN PORTLAND
Job Summary: This role offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in Portland’s local scene while contributing meaningfully to DoPDX’s growth and community engagement. The intern will be directly involved in various aspects of content and operational workflow, from curating and maintaining content to attending events, helping ensure DoPDX remains the premier source for local information. It is ideal for an ambitious, detail-oriented individual eager to develop marketing skills and build professional connections.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify and pitch creative opportunities for media partnerships, sponsorships, and brand collaborations.
• Attend and represent DoPDX at a wide range of events in Portland (primarily evenings and weekends).
• Maintain lead lists with website, social media, and contact details.
• Assist with event execution, including logistics and on-site support.
• Contribute fresh ideas for social content, editorial calendars, and audience growth.
• Occasionally assist with errands and general tasks to support the team.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Commitment: Available 10–15 hours per week.
Local Knowledge & Passion: Strong interest in music, arts, culture, food, and nightlife in Portland.
Flexibility: Able to attend events regularly; being 21+ is preferred but open to candidates 18+.
Self-starter: Motivated, organized, and able to work independently when needed.
Creative Thinker: Ability to bring ideas for partnerships, content, and growth opportunities.
People Skills: Comfortable engaging with businesses and community members.
Cool Under Pressure: Able to stay composed in fast-paced event environments.
Marketing Savvy: Coursework or experience in marketing is a plus.
Credit-Eligible: Ideally seeking college credit (flexible for the right candidate).
