Job Description: Content Creator Internship (6-Week Summer Program)
This internship is designed for creative, social-media-savvy college students (ages 18–22) who are looking to join Honcho’s 6-week Content Creator Internship Program during the summer. The core purpose of this role is to help shape the narrative of amateur pickleball by creating content that captures the energy, excitement, and community present at Honcho events across the nation. It offers an opportunity to gain real-world marketing experience, grow a personal brand, and contribute to a team building something unique, all while engaging in content creation.
What You’ll Do:
The role involves a variety of tasks, with a focus on capturing and creating engaging social content:
• Film and edit short-form content (for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Stories) either on-site at events or independently.
• Capture authentic, community-driven moments that highlight players, venues, and the overall “vibe” of Honcho events.
• Transform trending sounds and moments into pickleball-specific content.
• Potentially be a face of Honcho content (if comfortable on-camera) or work behind the scenes by shooting/editing.
• Actively participate in brainstorming and pitching new content ideas on a weekly basis.
• Engage in creative calls and collaborate with Honcho’s marketing and event teams.
• Utilize your own network (if applicable) to share content and amplify its reach.
Who You Are (Qualifications):
Honcho emphasizes passion, creativity, and hustle over extensive experience. Ideal candidates will likely:
• Be a current college student, 18–22 years old.
• Be highly active on TikTok and/or Instagram, possessing a strong understanding of current trends, formats, and the tone of each platform.
• Possess a passion for sports, community, storytelling, or event culture.
• Have experience creating social-first video content, including proficiency with editing apps like CapCut, InShot, or Adobe Rush.
• Be energized by live events, people, and capturing moments in real-time.
• Enjoy being on-camera or filming/directing others who are.
• Express a desire to grow their personal brand and portfolio in a meaningful way.
• Be organized, creative, and motivated to turn ideas into action.
What You’ll Gain:
Participants in the internship will gain several valuable benefits:
• Real-time marketing and content experience with one of the fastest-growing amateur sports companies.
• Portfolio pieces suitable for showcasing in future internships or job applications.
• Access to industry mentors, insights into startup marketing strategies, and creative feedback.
• Free Honcho & Sponsor gear and merchandise.
• Resume-building experience.
• A chance to build a personal following and get featured across Honcho’s national platforms.
Details:
• Duration: 6 weeks.
• Time Commitment: Approximately 7-12 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate the intern’s schedule.
• Location: Remote, specifically in select cities where Honcho has a presence (over 70 cities).
• Tools: Honcho will provide brand guidelines and editing support. Interns are expected to bring their own phone, editing apps, and creativity.
How to Apply:
Honcho is accepting rolling applications. Interested candidates should apply directly on LinkedIn or via LinkedIn DM, providing:
• A link to their TikTok or Instagram profile.
• 2–3 examples of videos they have created (which can be personal, school, or brand-related).
Honcho is explicitly looking for “bold, creative, and energized students” who are enthusiastic about contributing to something significant.
