Position: Construction Solutions Intern (Summer Internship Program)

Overview of the Internship:
This summer internship offers a hands-on experience in the construction field, allowing interns to apply classroom knowledge and build valuable skills. It provides an opportunity to see firsthand how roads, bridges, and utilities are brought to life in the communities served by American Structurepoint.
Key Responsibilities & Learning Opportunities:
As a Construction Solutions Intern, you will gain hands-on field experience in:
• Inspecting construction work.
• Testing materials.
• Tracking project progress.
You will also support office tasks, including:
• Reviewing plans.
• Preparing daily reports.
• Participating in project meetings.
What You Will Do:
• Coordination: Help keep projects running smoothly by coordinating with contractors, designers, utility companies, and local residents, gaining insight into project integration.
• Material Testing: Gain practical experience with material testing for asphalt, concrete, aggregates, and soils, understanding the science behind construction quality.
• Site Observation: Visit construction sites to observe daily contractor activities, document progress, and ensure project adherence to plans.
• Technology Skills: Utilize software tools such as Microsoft Office, Appia, SiteManager, and BlueBeam to organize and report project information.
• Project Support: Support real construction projects involving roads, bridges, and utility systems, directly impacting communities.
• Team Support: Perform other tasks as needed to support the team.

Qualifications:
• Educational Background: Student majoring in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Land Surveying, Structural Engineering, or a related field with a focus on Civil Engineering.
• Transportation: Valid Driver’s License is required for transportation to the office and between various project sites.
• Work Ethic: Demonstrated strong work ethic, clear communication skills, and a genuine eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
• Work Environment: Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
