- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week (May through August 2026). Shifts may vary based on project needs.
- Compensation: $21.00 – $25.00 Hourly
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required to various project sites or office locations.

What You’ll Do – Key Responsibilities
As a Construction Project Intern, you will work under direct supervision, immersing yourself in the day-to-day operations of an active construction project. Your responsibilities will be diverse and will provide comprehensive exposure to the construction lifecycle, including:
- Actively supporting the project team in crucial administrative and coordination tasks, such as meeting scheduling, material tracking, meticulous file management, robust document control, and timely progress reporting.
- Gaining hands-on experience by assisting with the collection and review of critical project documentation like shop drawings, submittals, and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Learning to prepare and distribute essential information for contract requirements to relevant stakeholders.
- Supporting the estimation process for changes in work from subcontractors, building your understanding of project financial management.
- Participating in project site visits to observe, document, and learn from active construction field activities.
- Assisting with professional correspondence and communication with Architects, Engineers, vendors, and subcontractors, fostering strong professional relationships.
- Tracking job schedules and communicating with trades and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are met.
- Monitoring and supporting compliance with Turner’s rigorous safety program, reinforcing a culture of safety on site.
- Developing skills in quantity take-offs and project studies, utilizing both traditional and computer-aided programs.
- Requesting and distributing subcontractor proposals to assist in assembling comprehensive delivery system proposals.
- Providing invaluable support to Project Engineers, Superintendents, and Project Managers across various project phases, from start-up activities to final close-out preparations.
- Consistently providing progress reports to your supervisor, demonstrating a proactive approach to learning and development, and being receptive to guidance in construction management.
- Maintaining exceptional professional relationships with all employees, customers, clients, and subcontractors.
- Actively participating in all training sessions, team meetings, and orientation programs.
- Strictly complying with all safety protocols, following safety expectations, and wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
Who You Are – Qualifications
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who meets the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in and actively pursuing an accredited college or university degree program, with a minimum of one year of completed education. Recommended majors include Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or other related fields of study, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age (a requirement for working on construction project sites).
- Possesses a strong desire to build a career in construction management and a genuine eagerness to learn about the construction industry.
- Committed to working standard business hours and overtime as needed to meet project demands.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, evidenced through student leadership, volunteerism, or other community involvement.
- Excellent professional and clear verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
- Ability to read and comprehend complex written information effectively.
- Embodies personal and professional accountability for all actions and activities.
- Proactive, naturally curious, and eager to learn and actively participate in all aspects of the internship.
- Capable of working both independently with direction and supervision, and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Working Environment & Physical Demands
This role offers a dynamic blend of office and on-site experiences:
- Work Environment: You will regularly work in a professional office setting where the noise level is typically quiet to moderate. Occasionally, you will be on active construction sites, exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in these environments is usually moderate to loud. Strict compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws is mandatory at all times.
- Physical Demands: The role requires frequent sitting, the use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and the ability to reach with hands, talk, and hear. Regular mobility is essential. Performance of the required duties may necessitate the physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, utilize construction personnel hoists, climb ladders, and safely negotiate work areas under construction. Frequent computer monitor viewing and keyboard use are also required. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may occasionally travel both short and long distances via a variety of conveyances. The ability to regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds is also required.
