Construction Management Internship Program

About the Program:

NV5’s Construction Management Internship program is designed for college students who have successfully completed at least two full years of undergraduate study. This program offers a unique opportunity to join our Student Worker Program and gain invaluable experience in construction management, specifically focusing on heavy civil transportation infrastructure projects.

Interns will work closely with experienced teams who are eager to share their professional knowledge and insights. This immersive experience will cover all phases of a project, aiming to better prepare students for a successful career in Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management.

Locations:

  • Fresno, CA
  • Merced, CA

Responsibilities:

As an intern, you will be deeply immersed in all phases of a current NV5 project. Your typical responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Construction Management (CM) team with general project administration tasks.
  • Providing support for various project administration duties.
  • Shadowing construction inspectors to understand on-site processes and quality control.
  • Assisting with the preparation of professional documents using Microsoft WORD and EXCEL.

Qualifications:

Please note: This is an internship experience, not a full-time role.

Requirements:

  • Academic Standing: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and will have completed two full years of undergraduate study by May 2025, prior to the start of the assignment.
  • Continued Enrollment: Must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies for the semester immediately following the internship.
  • GPA: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required.
  • Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the US and not require immigration sponsorship for employment.
  • Software Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft WORD and EXCEL.

Skills Preferred:

  • Major: Engineering majors are preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of engineering fundamentals.
  • Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Technical & Organizational: Strong technical and organizational abilities.
  • Initiative: A self-starter who takes initiative.

Compensation & Benefits:

The pay range for this position in California is $20.00 – $25.00 per hour. This information is provided per California Senate Bill 1162.

In addition to the hourly pay, restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, along with a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the specific position offered. Base pay information is determined based on market location.
