Key Responsibilities
As a Construction Management Intern, you will play a crucial role in various aspects of project execution, including:
- Engaging in Field Engineering activities, providing practical support and technical insight on site.
- Assisting with Operation Planning, contributing to the efficient organization of construction tasks.
- Supporting Cost Control initiatives, helping to monitor and manage project expenses effectively.
- Participating in Project Scheduling, learning to plan and track project timelines.
- Performing Quantity Tracking for materials and work completed.
- Assisting with Material Procurement, including sourcing and managing construction materials.
- Learning about Contract Administration processes and documentation.
- Supporting the Supervision of Field Activities, observing and learning from experienced professionals.
- Executing engineering tasks that require standard techniques and addressing minor technical issues arising during construction.
- Maintaining accurate records regarding job progress, costs, material usage, and other relevant project data.
- Contributing to the planning and scheduling of specific job segments.
- Investigating problems and/or reported incidents, identifying root causes, and recommending appropriate solutions or alternatives.
- Reviewing plans and specifications to accurately determine material requirements (quantities and qualities) and pricing.
- Collaborating with suppliers to facilitate the efficient handling and expedited delivery of materials to the job site.
Qualifications
We are looking for highly motivated individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
- Ability to work full-time during the summer (approximately May-August).
- Demonstrated passion for excellence and a proactive approach to taking initiative.
- Strong work ethic, committed to doing what it takes to get the job done right the first time.
- Proven commitment to ethics and integrity in all professional interactions.
- Passion for safety, with the ability to actively contribute to a culture where nobody gets hurt.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.
- Exceptional organization, time management skills, and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in a wide range of climates and environments.
- Common names for this role include: Office Engineer Intern, Office Intern, Field Intern.

- Regular, reliable attendance is essential.
- Ability to work productively and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others, both individually and in a team environment.
- Perform work safely and effectively, understanding and following all oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other safety policies.
- Ability to work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Overtime and weekends may be required.
- May work at various different locations, and conditions may vary significantly.
Base Compensation
$20.00/hr – $24.50/hr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location.)
