Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Management Intern to join our talented team in Burlington, Massachusetts. This developmental position offers a unique opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to practical applications within a leading global firm. You will play a crucial role in assisting staff with achieving technical, safety, and administrative objectives, primarily supporting Project Managers, Superintendents, and Project Engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the receipt, tracking, and transfer of project-related information to and from outside subcontractors, vendors, and clients, leveraging integrated IPS technologies and collaborating with IPS design and CQV teams.
- Support the development of preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed written project scopes in collaboration with senior staff.
- Manage the receipt, meticulous documentation tracking, and efficient transfer of submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Facilitate clear and effective communication among all project participants, documenting relevant interactions as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support project success.
Compensation:
The compensation range for this role is between $20.00/hr and $25.00/hr. The actual salary offered will be dependent on individual experience, skill set, and education.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline from an accredited technical institution or college.
Physical Demands:
The role requires the ability to perform various physical tasks, including:
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
- Possess the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders as necessary.
Work Environment:
This position involves a dynamic work environment:
- Requires up to 25% travel, or as necessitated by assigned projects.
- Possibility of being assigned to a client site for an extended period of time.
- Overnight travel or staying in the city of the Client’s location is possible, depending on project assignments. (Please review the IPS Travel Policy for details.)
- Frequent visits to construction sites will be required, necessitating adherence to site safety training and rules.
- Must have access to reliable transportation and the ability to travel and commute on a daily or routine basis.
- Must be able to work comfortably in both indoor and outdoor environments, which may include exposure to varying weather conditions.
Safety:
- This is designated as a safety-sensitive position.
- The employee is expected to perform field work and attend activities at client sites, which may include working in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other “non-administrative” areas, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols.
