Job Summary: Construction Internship Program

The Construction Internship at Ashton Woods Homes offers a comprehensive introduction to the basic principles of project management on a residential construction site. This structured program begins with an on-boarding phase, followed by practical application of learning in a supervised environment. Interns will work under the direction of a Project Manager, gaining hands-on experience and familiarity with the entire home-building process, including scheduling, quality control, payment control, and customer satisfaction procedures specific to Ashton Woods Homes.

Key Responsibilities

As a Construction Intern, you will be integral to the successful execution of construction projects, focusing on quality, timelines, and customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include:

• Complete assigned training tasks within specified timelines, demonstrating a proactive approach to learning.
• Assist the Project Manager in the comprehensive management of the construction process and all involved subcontractors.
• Facilitate exceptional customer service by regularly conducting routine customer care appointments, ensuring homeowner satisfaction.
• Communicate effectively with homebuyers, on-site Sales Consultants/Associates, and various support personnel as required, maintaining clear and timely information flow.
• Manage assigned construction tasks to ensure the delivery of a quality home that meets specifications, is delivered on time, and remains within budget.
• Collaborate effectively with the Sales, Marketing, and Design Center teams to ensure seamless coordination and proactive problem-solving across these critical organizations.
• Work in partnership with the assigned Sales Consultant/Associate to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the home-buying journey.
• Proactively communicate any construction, customer service, or safety issues to the Area Construction Manager, providing suggested resolutions for efficient problem-solving.
• Assist with ensuring the assigned community is maintained in proper order, clean, safe, and appealing to potential homebuyers.

Qualifications

To be considered for this internship, applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Currently enrolled in their Junior or Senior Year of a four-year program in Construction Science, Business, Finance, or another relatable field.
• Possess a strong attention to detail, crucial for ensuring quality and accuracy in construction processes.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with various stakeholders.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
