Job Description: Construction Intern
Greystar’s Summer Internship Program is a 10-week immersive experience designed to provide hands-on experience in the multifamily real estate industry. The program exposes interns to various aspects of the business, including development & construction, investment management, property management, and enterprise services. The program includes:
• Daily work experiences
• Intern events
• Workshops (Executive Speaker Series, Business Segment Trainings, Strategic Lunch & Learns)
• Mentorship
• Site visits
• Community outreach
• Networking opportunities
• A final Capstone Project presentation
The Construction Intern will work closely with the Construction Manager on capital improvement and construction projects. Responsibilities include:
• Building relationships with subcontractors and project team members.
• Participating in punch lists, city inspections, safety reviews, and quality reviews; preparing related documentation.
• Reviewing and recommending change orders; soliciting prices from subcontractors and suppliers; amending budgets to reflect project changes.
• Assisting the preconstruction team with quantity take-offs, bid packages, soliciting bids, and estimate preparation.
• Supporting the development and updating of project and subcontractor schedules.
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues affecting the construction schedule; escalating concerns to business leaders as needed.
Qualifications:
• Strong organizational, time-management, and project management skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and focus on quality.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management (graduating between December 2025 and May 2026).
The internship runs from June 2, 2025, to August 8, 2025, with a compensation of $25/hour. A need-based housing stipend is available.
