Job Description: Construction Intern

The Greystar Summer Internship Program offers a 10-week immersive experience (June 2, 2025 – August 8, 2025) for students graduating between December 2025 and May 2026. As a Construction Intern, you will work closely with the Construction Manager overseeing multiple jobs related to capital improvements and construction, and perform capital assessments of buildings and properties during the due diligence phase of acquisitions. This role ensures capital projects are completed on-time, on budget, and with best-practice internal and external communication.

Responsibilities:

• Build relationships and develop communication and interpersonal skills with subcontractors and project team members.
• Participate in activities such as punch lists, city inspections, safety reviews, quality reviews, and prepare necessary documentation.
• Review and recommend change orders, solicit prices from subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure budgets are amended to reflect changes to project specifications.
• Assist the preconstruction team in performing quantity take-offs, developing bid packages, soliciting bids, and preparing estimates.
• Support the development and updating of the project schedule and subcontractor detail schedules.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting the construction schedule, and appropriately discuss concerns with business leaders when required.

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational, time-management, and project management skills to effectively track, report, and manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment with a wide variety of people, including owners, architects, subcontractors, and business leaders.
• Attention to detail and focus on quality.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation: $25/hr
Housing Stipend: Need-based housing stipend available.
Additional Compensation: Potential for annual or other bonus programs (details vary by role).
