Internship Overview:

The Construction Internship at Ashton Woods Homes is specifically designed to introduce aspiring professionals to the fundamental principles of project management within a residential construction environment. This comprehensive program features a structured on-boarding process, followed by practical, supervised application of learning. As a Construction Intern, you will work under the direct guidance of a Project Manager, gaining invaluable exposure to the full home-building lifecycle, including:

  • The overall home-building process
  • Scheduling and timeline management
  • Quality control procedures
  • Payment control mechanisms
  • Customer satisfaction protocols unique to Ashton Woods Homes

Key Responsibilities:

  • Successfully complete all assigned training tasks within specified deadlines.
  • Actively assist the Project Manager in the comprehensive management of the construction process and coordination with all subcontractors.
  • Contribute to exceptional customer service by participating in routine customer care appointments and maintaining effective communication with homebuyers, on-site Sales Consultants/Associates, and support personnel.
  • Manage assigned construction tasks with a focus on delivering high-quality homes on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate proactively with Sales, Marketing, and Design Center teams to ensure seamless coordination and effective problem-solving across departments.
  • Work closely with assigned Sales Consultants/Associates to maintain and enhance high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively communicate any construction, customer service, or safety issues to the Area Construction Manager, providing suggested resolutions.
  • Assist in ensuring that the assigned community is consistently well-maintained, orderly, and visually appealing to prospective homebuyers.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior in a four-year program studying Construction Science, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to multi-task effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
