Job Description: Construction Intern

About The Role:
The Construction Intern position offers an opportunity to gain practical project management and field construction experience by working alongside Enclave’s construction team. This role supports construction operations through a variety of supervised tasks, providing exposure to both office and field environments.

Position Logistics:
Primary Work Location: West Fargo, ND – Corporate Office.
Work Environment: On-Site.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday | Standard Hours.
Work Type: Internship (Full-time hours with flexibility).

Position Responsibilities:
The Construction Intern will:
• Assist the project team in completing designated projects, learning construction industry processes, procedures, and Enclave business policies.
• Gain a working understanding of budgets, cost accounting, invoicing, contracts, and change orders.
• Develop a first-hand understanding of job site coordination, scheduling, quality control, and safety.
• Participate in on-site inspections, meetings, and safety briefings.
• Assist with project documentation, including progress reports, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Support estimating and bidding activities by gathering data and preparing takeoffs.
• Conduct research on construction methods, materials, and regulations as needed.
• Monitor and document construction work in progress; interface with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Assist with material quantity takeoffs and evaluate contractor cost proposals.
• Perform other assigned duties.
• Maintain the general upkeep of work and shared spaces.
• Ensure punctual and regular attendance.

We’re Seeking Individuals Who:
• Demonstrate general knowledge of construction project management principles, including estimating techniques and cost-control methods.
• Are capable of performing basic mathematical calculations accurately and efficiently.
• Have the ability to communicate clearly and interface effectively with diverse groups of employees.
• Possess working knowledge of technologies, including computer and online software such as Microsoft Office Suites.
• Are able to read and understand simple blueprints and technical procedures.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required.
• Must be actively enrolled in an associate or bachelor’s degree program in Construction Management, Project Management, or a related major.
