Job Title: Construction Intern – Summer 2026
Company Overview:
Bi-Con is a well-established and large construction company with over 60 years of experience, serving the Natural Gas, Industrial, and Hydrocarbon Fuel Industries. We partner with energy and manufacturing companies to deliver critical infrastructure projects.
Position Summary:
We are actively seeking enthusiastic and dedicated interns for the Summer 2026 program. This internship offers a unique opportunity for students to gain invaluable hands-on experience and insight into the construction industry by working directly on our job sites. Interns will contribute to various critical tasks, preparing them for a successful future career.
Location:
Construction job sites located within a 400-mile radius of Cambridge, Ohio. (Travel to various sites will be required.)
Internship Program Highlights:

Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Material Management:
- Coordinate the tracking of material delivery status.
- Update the Bill of Materials (BOM) promptly upon material receipt.
- Verify materials received on-site adhere to BOM specifications.
- Expeditiously resolve issues related to material delivery and/or receipt to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Project Documentation & Control:
- Lead project punchlist development and tracking through timely, successive project walkthroughs with customers and inspectors.
- Interpret and effectively convey drawings, specifications, and the project contract scope to personnel and other stakeholders with varying levels of experience.
- Develop and maintain a neat, organized database of field documentation, including:
- Redlines and weld maps.
- Field fabrication spool drawings.
- RFI (Request for Information) generation and internal submittal to the Project Manager.
- Closeout documentation (as-builts, final redlines, and weld maps).
- Organized database of Material Test Reports (MTR) for all materials.
- Hydro test documentation and test records, coordinated with the Superintendent.
- Tracking of Change Orders, detailing materials, equipment, and personnel hours.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate layout and site surveying activities.
- Assist with time entry processes.
- Process Field Purchase Orders (P.O.).
- Prepare and submit daily work reports.
- Assist with schedule updates.
Qualifications:
- Academic Standing: Must have successfully completed the equivalent of two years of an undergraduate degree program.
- Field of Study: Strong focus in engineering, project management, or construction-related disciplines.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities are essential.
- Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Work Environment: Ability and willingness to work in both a field office setting and perform field work on active construction sites.
- Drawing Interpretation: Proven ability to read and interpret civil, mechanical, and electrical drawings accurately.
- Data Management: Knowledge of hard copy and electronic file databases.
- Schedule Flexibility: Must be willing and able to work a 10/4 shift schedule (10-hour days for 10 consecutive days, followed by 4 days off).
