The TL;DR

• Pay: $80000–$85000 yearly
• Team: Reports to the Intake/Conflicts Manager, working closely with firm attorneys, other Conflicts Analysts, and members of the New Business Intake and Conflicts Departments.
• Mission: To process, analyze, and communicate critical conflicts of interest information to firm partners, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical rules and upholding professional services risk management standards.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite, web-based systems; familiarity with CMS/Aderant, Dun & Bradstreet, and Hoovers a plus.

What You’ll Actually Do
Request Processing: Review new client and matter intake requests to ensure clarity and completeness regarding the matter, setting the foundation for accurate conflict assessments.
Data Research & Entry: Conduct thorough research using internal proprietary databases and external sources to establish corporate structures, management profiles, and potential conflicts, accurately entering this data into the firm’s systems.
Conflict Analysis & Verification: Select, analyze, and verify conflicts results for completeness, consistency, and accuracy against established firm standards, ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures for firm-wide searches.
Issue Resolution & Communication: Perform data analysis to identify possible conflict issues, evaluate reports to clear potential conflicts, and escalate unresolved or critical matters directly to partners, the Intake/Conflicts Manager, or the Office of General Counsel.
Departmental Contribution: Assist in the training and development of other Conflicts Analysts or Clerks, contribute to process and technology improvements, and coordinate with team members to ensure timely and efficient processing of all conflict requests.

The Must-Haves
Background: University degree; a strong understanding of legal conflicts, related ethical rules, and current developments in professional services risk management.
Experience: 3-4 years of experience as a Conflict Analyst, preferably within a large law firm, or equivalent studies in directly applicable areas such as paralegal or legal assistant roles.
Skills: Acute attention to detail, strong organizational and researching capabilities, exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills, excellent decision-making abilities, and demonstrated comfort working with attorneys and legal staff in a high-demand environment.
Bonus: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and various web-based systems; familiarity with legal conflict management software like CMS/Aderant, or corporate research tools such as Dun & Bradstreet and Hoovers.
