Job Description: 2025 Compliance Summer Analyst Program (New York)

This is a 10-week program starting in June, offering Summer Analysts the chance to join a team specializing in global compliance functions such as:

Financial crimes: Investigating and mitigating financial crimes risk.
Regulatory relations: Managing relationships with regulatory bodies and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Information controls: Implementing and monitoring information security and control processes.
Global monitoring and testing: Evaluating the effectiveness of compliance controls and processes.
Compliance advisory teams: Providing compliance advice and support to specific business areas.

In addition to daily responsibilities, a team of Summer Analysts will work together on a group project addressing a real-world issue from the Compliance Department.

Training Program:

Summer Analysts will receive comprehensive training, including:

Firmwide orientation: Introduction to Morgan Stanley’s culture and operations.
Compliance-specific training: In-depth knowledge of the firm’s compliance risk management program.
Mentorship opportunities: Guidance and support from experienced professionals.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Conducting due diligence reviews of clients during the account opening process (e.g., for financial crimes concerns).
• Monitoring and surveilling transactions, employee activities, and communications.
• Performing transaction and control-based testing to mitigate risks.
• Analyzing regulations, rules, and proposals; drafting and coordinating regulatory updates and compliance bulletins.
• Conducting research and assisting with responses to regulatory inquiries and examinations.
• Reviewing and drafting policies, procedures, compliance manuals, and developing/updating related training courses.
• Participating in compliance risk assessments and analyzing the compliance environment and controls for a line of business.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• Graduating between December 2025 and June 2026.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Track record of academic excellence.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze and synthesize data to produce well-designed, meaningful summaries and reports.
• Adept at solving problems and developing efficient processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Legal authorization to work in the United States is required and sponsorship for employment visa status is not available.

Compensation:

• Expected base pay rate is $32.45 per hour at the start of employment.
• Base pay is determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which may include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, and other short and long-term incentive packages, as well as Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
