About the Internship

Musket and Trillium are seeking a Compliance Manager to manage and lead their trade surveillance and compliance programs. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience in a compliance, audit, middle office, or legal role. Experience in a trading organization, financial services, or legal firm is preferred. The candidate should also have a proven understanding of commodities/energy markets, as well as strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with trading, legal, risk, and accounting to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
• Manage the continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate compliance risks
• Manage the review, analysis, and reporting of results from internal trade surveillance system(s)
• Respond to and report alerts from internal compliance systems/solutions
• Lead internal compliance investigations and reviews of trading activity
• In partnership with legal, lead investigations and responses to regulatory inquiries
• Lead routine compliance trainings
• Manage process improvement initiatives, compliance-related project work
• Manage and lead the compliance team; mentor and train junior teammates

Currently pursuings

• Bachelor’s degree required; MLS or JD degree preferred
• 3-5 years’ relevant experience in a compliance, audit, middle office, or legal role
• Experience in a trading organization, financial services, or legal firm preferred
• Experience with oil, refined products, NGL, and/or biofuel markets preferred
• Proven understanding of commodities/energy markets
• Proven organizational and time-management/prioritization skills
• Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills
• Knowledge of laws and regulations related to Musket’s commercial business lines
• Familiarity with RightAngle or other ETRM system preferred

Physical Demands

• Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
• Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
• Requires normal range of hearing and vision
