Job Description:

Thresholds is offering a Community Support Internship for 2025, providing an opportunity to learn evidence-based practices through rigorous training and clinical supervision. The internship allows participants to gain experience, fulfill educational requirements, contribute to a leading social service agency, and potentially start a career.

Key Responsibilities:

The Community Support Interns collaborate with Program Directors, Team Leaders, and Community Support Specialists to provide direct service to members.

• Attend New Staff Orientation.
• Participate in a team to provide clinical services such as:
• Group counseling/therapy
• Individual counseling/therapy
• Case management
• Teaching
• Assessment
• Assertive community treatment
• Job support
• Treatment planning
• Crisis intervention
• Psycho-social rehabilitation services
• Complete assigned paperwork (individual/group documentation, attendance reports, service plans, evaluations).
• Provide accurate and timely information to the supervisor regarding the rehabilitation and well-being of Thresholds members.
• Attend staff and team meetings as assigned by a supervisor.
• Maintain a professional demeanor with members, colleagues, and collateral contacts.

Qualifications:

Education: Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program majoring in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Vocational Counseling, Family Therapy, or other related human service programs. 1st or 2nd year Master’s students preferred.
Experience: Social service experience and/or experience working with individuals with mental illness preferred. Ability to synthesize and summarize information and make judgments regarding member care.
Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to function independently. Computer skills required, including knowledge of database functions and maintenance.
Certifications: Current and valid driver’s license required.

(This is an unpaid internship designed to be completed for academic credit.)
