Job Description:
• Title: Community Support Internship
• Overview: The Community Support Internship at Thresholds is a program designed to provide students with the opportunity to learn evidence-based practices through rigorous training and clinical supervision, while contributing to a leading social service agency. This internship is designed to be completed for credit as part of a degree program and is unpaid.
• Responsibilities:
• Attend New Staff Orientation.
• Provide clinical services such as counseling, crisis management, and evidence-based practices within a team setting.
• Complete paperwork, including individual and group documentation, attendance reports, service plans, and evaluations.
• Provide timely information to the supervisor on issues related to the rehabilitation and well-being of Thresholds members.
• Attend staff and team meetings as assigned.
• Maintain a professional demeanor consistent with agency ethics and code of conduct guidelines.
• Qualifications:
• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program with a major in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Vocational Counseling, Family Therapy, or other related human service programs. 1st or 2nd year Master’s students are preferred.
• Social service experience and/or experience working with individuals with mental illness is preferred.
• Must have the ability to synthesize and summarize information and make judgments regarding member care.
• Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Must demonstrate the ability to function independently.
• Computer skills are required, including knowledge of database functions and maintenance.
• A current and valid driver’s license is required.
• Education Preferred:
• Masters or better in Social Service Administration, Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work.
• Bachelors or better in Psychology or Social Work.
• Associates or better in Psychology or Social Work.
