Job Description:
The Minneapolis Police Department is seeking Community Service Officer (CSO) candidates who possess a strong commitment to public service, outstanding character, sound judgment, excellent communication skills, interpersonal tact, empathy, and compassion.
As a CSO, you will:
• Work approximately 20-30 hours per week (Monday – Friday with occasional nights and weekends) in the Minneapolis Police Department for up to three years.
• Be enrolled as a student in an approved, two-year law enforcement program and/or working toward completion of Minnesota Peace Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) licensing requirements.
• Assist the Police Department and community by promoting intercommunication, understanding, and cooperation between the Police Department and the diverse communities of Minneapolis.
• Engage in a civilian position designed to prepare you for a full-time Police Officer position. This is *not• a long-term role.
Work Location: On-site only (no remote work).

The Minneapolis Police Department is hosting an information session to provide more details about the CSO program. Attendance is optional, and registration is not required.
