This is an in-person Communications Intern role, designed to provide hands-on experience in writing, social media, press relations, event planning, and content creation. It is ideal preparation for a future role like Communications Coordinator.
Learning Goals Include:
• How to execute a multi-platform social media plan.
• How to create professional press materials and digital content using AP style.
• How to plan and manage communications and events from start to finish.
• How to process, organize, and maintain a digital media library.
• NACE Communication Competency: Effectively share ideas, information, and stories with different audiences and through multiple channels.
• NACE Teamwork Competency: Build and maintain collaborative relationships while contributing to shared goals in a diverse team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Write press releases, news stories, and other materials using AP style.
• Plan, schedule, and post engaging content across social media platforms.
• Photograph and film events, process and edit digital media, and help manage our media library.
• Assist with basic graphic design for digital and print materials.
• Support event planning and management for programs like the Socratic Stage series.
• Provide hospitality and on-site logistics support at events.
• Help with website updates, project tracking, and press strategy.
Work Environment & Compensation:
• Dress Code: Business casual to professional dress required.
• Hours: Potentially 8-10 hours per week, depending on your schedule.
• Schedule Flexibility: Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for events.

• Salary: $14 per hour.
