Detailed Job Description:
The Communications Intern will play a vital role in telling ICFJ’s story through various communication channels. Key responsibilities include:
• Social Media Content Creation & Management:
• Write and publish engaging content for social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
• Design compelling visuals for social media posts.
• Own and analyze social media analytics to optimize performance.
• Video Production:
• Film and edit video interviews.
• Analytics & Reporting:
• Help compile regular analytics reports using tools like Facebook Insights and Google Analytics.
• Website Maintenance:
• Update ICFJ’s website with fresh content and information.
• Write short web stories and highlight press mentions.
• Event Support:
• Provide support for ICFJ events, including logistics and promotion.
• Administrative Support:
• Provide administrative assistance as needed to support the communications team.
Qualifications:
• Must be enrolled in a degree-granting program during the internship or a recent graduate.
• Preferred majors: Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Design.
• Experience with video editing and video editing software.
• Highly collaborative with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Take pride in your work.
Internship Details:
• Time commitment: 28-35 hours per week
• Start Date: August 26, 2024
• Duration: At least until the end of December, but no longer than 6 months.
• Location: Washington, D.C. (Applicants must be based in Washington, D.C. for the duration of the internship).
