Job Description: Communications Intern (Summer 2025)
Job Overview:
Atlassian offers a 12-week paid summer internship (May/June – August/September 2025) within their Communications team. This role is specifically for entry-level candidates with less than one year of professional experience (excluding internships/co-ops). Visa sponsorship is not provided.
Team Description: The Communications team at Atlassian shapes the company’s image and reputation, influencing perceptions among customers, investors, analysts, regulators, potential employees, and other key audiences. Responsibilities span various areas, including product launches, external speaking engagements, executive communications, narrative development, quarterly earnings reports, crisis management, and analyst relations.
Responsibilities:
As an intern, you will contribute to:
• Communications strategies and campaigns
• Content creation for a broad readership
• Identifying compelling stories within Atlassian for external amplification
• Determining optimal channels for story dissemination
• Developing engaging story angles tailored to specific audiences
• Placing stories in target channels/outlets
This internship offers hands-on experience in crafting and distributing communications materials, learning the processes involved in shaping a company’s public image.
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program, returning to studies after the internship, with graduation by June 2026.
• Ability to commit to a full-time (40 hours/week) internship.
• Skill in creating creative story angles.
• Ability to identify relevant trends and conversations for Atlassian engagement.
• Passion and curiosity for the work.
• Less than one year of professional experience (excluding internships/co-ops).
Compensation:
Atlassian’s compensation is designed to be equitable, transparent, and competitive. Base pay is generally higher than the typical market range. The specific hourly rate depends on skills, expertise, and experience, falling within these ranges based on geographic pay zone (US only):
• Zone A: $35/hr – $40/hr
• Zone B: $32/hr – $36/hr
• Zone C: $29/hr – $34/hr
Additional benefits may include bonuses, commissions, and equity. Specific zone determination should be confirmed with the recruiter. International compensation details are not specified.
