Commodity Trading Associate Position:

This entry-level position offers an opportunity to join a fast-paced environment where you will be involved in real-world challenges within the agricultural commodities market. You will be responsible for trading a wide range of commodities, including grain, oilseeds, oilseed products, feed, and processing by-products.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain customer relationships: Build strong relationships with country elevators, producers, feed mills, and processors.
Analyze market conditions: Conduct in-depth analysis of supply and demand, market conditions, and economic forces to optimize Cargill’s position in the market.
Negotiate contracts: Initiate, negotiate, and agree on the terms of commodity purchase/sale contracts, including price, quality, quantity, transportation, timing, and payment.
Coordinate logistics: Ensure smooth execution of commodity contracts by coordinating transportation and logistics.
Communication and collaboration: Maintain effective communication with internal teams, including sales, transportation and logistics, quality assurance, plant personnel, engineers, and accountants.
Field work: Occasionally participate in plant and crop surveys, visiting suppliers and both internal and external customers.
Project work: Complete and collaborate on various projects and assignments as needed.

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited program, graduating between December 2024 and Summer 2025.
• Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.
• Geographic flexibility and willingness to relocate for an associate opportunity anywhere in the U.S., if applicable.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience with commodity trading internships.
• Completion or enrollment in a micro or macro introductory college-level economics course.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary: $70,000 (the disclosed salary has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled).

Work Environment:

• Plant or office setting, with flexibility for hybrid work arrangements.
• Majority of the work week will be in the office.
