Job Title: Commercial Real Estate Intern (Tenant Representation Focus)
Role Overview
Cresa is dedicated to equipping all Advisors, whether seasoned professionals or new to commercial real estate, with the foundational knowledge and expert guidance essential for a successful and productive career. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive sales training, grounded in the distinctive “Cresa Way.” Interns will benefit from structured learning through training manuals, invaluable mentorship from senior brokers or Managing Principals, active involvement in dynamic teams, and participation in regular training meetings. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience and a robust introduction to the commercial real estate industry, with a specific emphasis on tenant representation.
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Management Support:
- Actively collaborate with our experienced brokerage team, providing crucial support for various transaction management activities.
- Assist in the meticulous preparation of critical documents such as Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Letters of Intent (LOIs).
- Engage in comprehensive financial analysis and thorough market research to inform negotiation strategies and aid in strategic decision-making processes for clients.
- Financial Analysis:
- Analyze complex financial data, including detailed rent schedules, lease terms, and occupancy costs, to provide clear insights.
- Develop sophisticated financial models and forecasts that directly support lease negotiations and enhance client presentations.
- Contribute valuable input on pricing strategies and rigorously evaluate the potential financial impacts of proposed real estate transactions.
- Exposure to Other Service Lines:
- Participate in diverse projects led by our Lease Administration team, gaining invaluable insights into lease management best practices, compliance requirements, and administrative processes.
- Contribute to project management initiatives by assisting with planning, coordination, and the efficient execution of various projects.
- Explore the application of data analytics within the commercial real estate context, helping to identify emerging trends and discover optimization opportunities crucial for the site selection process.
Qualifications
Required:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is essential.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with colleagues and clients.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the proven ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks while consistently meeting deadlines.
- A profound keen interest in commercial real estate and a strong, proactive desire to learn and grow within the industry.
