The Position: Commercial Intern – Sportsbook Team
FanDuel is seeking a Commercial Intern to join its dynamic Sportsbook team. This role is crucial in helping to continuously build a sportsbook that resonates deeply with users. The Commercial team is responsible for driving overall business performance, striving to deliver an unparalleled user experience and exceptional business results. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to solving some of FanDuel’s most challenging problems and capitalize on significant market opportunities.
During the Summer program, the intern will engage in cross-functional collaboration with teams such as Operations, Marketing, Media, Finance, and Product to enhance the online sportsbook experience. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, curious, highly organized, and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
Projects will vary in size, scope, and timeline, driven by the most high-potential needs of the business. Examples of potential work include:
- Considering new methods of distribution or strategies to reach target audiences.
- Developing new models or processes to optimize operations.
- Establishing unique partnerships to foster brand growth.
- Identifying and evaluating new revenue streams or audience segments.

Key Responsibilities (The Game Plan)
Everyone on our team has a part to play. As a Commercial Intern, you will:
- Own and execute 1-2 projects focused on the transformation of the sportsbook business, which may involve incremental revenue generation, optimization, and/or process improvements.
- Provide analytical support to inform strategies for problem-solving and executing innovative initiatives.
- Gain exposure to and partner with a wide variety of cross-functional teams including Marketing, Research, Analytics, and Strategy.
- Strive to become an expert of FanDuel’s sportsbook user experience end-to-end, identifying friction points and suggesting improvements that aim to benefit users.
- Obsess over the industry by researching the competitive landscape in this fast-paced and growing sector, identifying trends, and reporting on ways to improve conversion and retention.

Qualifications (The Stats)
Required Qualifications:
- Must be planning for degree completion between December 2026 – June 2027.
- Must have U.S. Work Authorization and not require employer sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must be in commutable distance from or willing to relocate to the designated office.
- Must be willing to be in office 3+ times per week.
- Familiarity working with the MS Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, MIS, or an analytical field (or other relevant discipline).
- Experience working as both an individual contributor and as a collaborator in team environments.
- Familiarity with SQL a plus.
- Excellent communication skills; skilled at influencing and building relationships across the organization at all levels, including with senior leadership.
- Proven problem-solving skills and superior time management skills.
- Proficient in synthesizing and summarizing information and datasets for presentations, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.

- Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity and decision-making.
- Team player with the desire to bring a positive attitude to a group dynamic.
