Commercial Analyst Development Program | BMO U.S.

The Tone:
This is an early career role within BMO U.S., located in Milwaukee, WI. • Mission: Analyzes credit information to support lending decisions and processes for new and existing Commercial banking loans and credit solutions in an assigned portfolio of clients.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analysis: Perform financial analysis and calculations, assess client creditworthiness, and prepare detailed credit summaries, analyzing financial performance and risk profiles within the portfolio.
• Decision Support: Support credit-granting decisions by making recommendations to management and assisting in the negotiation and structuring of loans that align with client requirements and bank risk appetite.
• Portfolio Management: Monitor loan performance, portfolio compliance, and assess industry trends to identify risks and opportunities, taking corrective action when required.
• Relationship & Growth: Develop proposals to capture new business, expand client relationships, and identify revenue and cross-selling opportunities to enhance portfolio growth.
• Risk Mitigation: Minimize BMO’s risk exposure by adhering to credit policies, regulatory standards, and operational guidelines, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of loan documentation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Preferred 1–3 years of relevant experience in credit, lending instruments, or financial operations in a corporate or banking environment.
• Skills: Financial Analysis, Credit Risk Assessment, Portfolio Management, Loan Structuring, Data analysis tools.
• Bonus: Credit Qualifications and associated credit knowledge and skills according to credit portfolio requirements and qualification standards.
