Responsibilities (Mimics full-time Financial Representative career):

  • Learn effective prospecting and networking strategies to build a business and client base.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy.
  • Initiate contact with potential clients and schedule meetings to understand their financial goals.
  • Prepare tailored financial plans and provide useful recommendations.
  • Gain hands-on experience with proprietary financial planning software platforms.
  • Actively participate in weekly coaching, training, and development meetings.
  • Obtain Risk Product State Licensing for Life, Accident, and Health.
  • Acquire valuable life skills that will open doors to future career opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student; juniors and seniors are preferred.
  • Possess entrepreneurial ambitions and a genuine curiosity for sales.
  • Highly involved in campus activities (e.g., leader, athlete, campus organizations, student government).
  • Demonstrate excellent time-management skills.
  • Show a strong interest in financial literacy and planning tools.
  • Exhibit business savvy and a desire to enhance critical thinking abilities.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Performance-based earnings and revenue.
  • Learning and Development Incentives: Up to $1000/month (not inclusive of earned commissions).

Salary Range:

USD $500.00 – USD $1,000.00 /Yr.

1 Northwestern Mutual College Financial Representatives are Independent Contractors whose income is based on production. If offered to apply for approval of an intern contract to become a Northwestern Mutual College Financial Representative, a national criminal background check is required. Should the background check results provide information which would not allow someone to work for Northwestern Mutual, approval to contract will be withdrawn.
