Key Responsibilities:

Our internship program mirrors the experience of a full-time Financial Representative, enabling you to:

  • Learn and apply effective prospecting and networking strategies to build your business and client base.
  • Develop and execute a personal business strategy.
  • Proactively call on potential clients and schedule meetings to understand their financial objectives.
  • Prepare tailored financial plans and provide insightful, useful recommendations.
  • Gain hands-on exposure to proprietary planning software platforms.
  • Engage in consistent weekly coaching, training, and development meetings.
  • Receive support and training to obtain Risk Product State Licensing: Life, Accident, and Health.
  • Acquire valuable life skills that will enhance your future career opportunities.

Qualifications:

Are you the ideal candidate for this internship?

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student; juniors and seniors are preferred.
  • Possess entrepreneurial ambitions and a genuine curiosity for sales.
  • Highly involved on campus (e.g., leader, athlete, campus organizations, student government).
  • Demonstrate excellent time-management skills.
  • Have a strong interest in financial literacy and planning tools.
  • Exhibit business savvy and a desire to enhance critical thinking abilities.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Performance-based earnings and revenue (as an independent contractor).
  • Learning and Development Incentives (up to $1000/month, not inclusive of earned commissions).
  • Productivity Bonuses.
  • Full support for obtaining insurance licensing (Life, Health, Disability Income, Long-Term Care).
  • Support for SIE, Series 6, and Series 63 registrations (eligibility required).

As a Northwestern Mutual College Financial Representative, you will operate as an Independent Contractor, with income based on your production. A national criminal background check is required for approval to contract.

Salary Range: USD $500.00 – USD $1,000.00 /Yr.
