Responsibilities

As a College Financial Representative intern, you will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of financial planning and business development:

  • Learn fundamental skills in prospecting and networking to establish and grow your business and client base.
  • Develop and meticulously execute a comprehensive business strategy.
  • Actively call on potential clients, set meetings, and conduct in-depth discussions to understand their financial goals and needs.
  • Prepare tailored financial plans and provide useful, actionable recommendations.
  • Gain valuable exposure to proprietary financial planning software platforms.
  • Participate in consistent weekly coaching, training, and development meetings to enhance your expertise.
  • Receive support and training to obtain Risk Product State Licensing: Life, Accident, and Health.
  • Develop critical life skills that will open doors to future career opportunities.

The program offers a flexible schedule, allowing you to effectively balance your work commitments with your academic life and classes. You have the option to participate in this internship year-round, continuously growing your practice and receiving support for additional registrations and certifications such as the Series 6 & 63 or CFP®. Interns are also inspired through local and national recognition events, gain access to leadership programs, and collaborate with industry experts. Eligible students will have the opportunity to interview for a full-time Financial Representative or Advisor role upon graduation.

Qualifications

  • Currently a full-time student; juniors and seniors are preferred.
  • Possess strong entrepreneurial ambitions and a genuine curiosity for sales.
  • Highly involved on campus, demonstrating leadership or active participation (e.g., leader, athlete, campus organizations, student government).
  • Exhibit excellent time-management skills.
  • Have a keen interest in financial literacy and various planning tools.
  • Demonstrate business savvy and a strong desire to increase critical thinking abilities.

  • Performance-based earnings and revenue, primarily through commissions.
  • Learning and Development Incentives of up to $1000 per month (separate from earned commissions).

Salary Range

USD $500.00 – USD $1,000.00 /Yr. (Please note that this range refers to a baseline or guaranteed component, as compensation is primarily performance-based with additional learning and development incentives and productivity bonuses.)
