The internship program closely mirrors the full-time Financial Representative career, providing a realistic and immersive experience. As a College Financial Representative, you’ll enjoy a flexible schedule that accommodates your academic commitments and personal life. The option to participate in the program year-round allows for continuous growth of your practice and provides support for acquiring critical registrations and certifications, such as the Series 6 & 63 or CFP®. You will have opportunities to gain inspiration at local and national recognition events, access leadership development programs, and collaborate with seasoned experts in the financial industry. Eligible students who demonstrate interest will also have the opportunity to interview for a full-time Financial Representative or Advisor role upon graduation.

As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of financial planning, including:

  • Learning to prospect and network effectively to build your business and client base.
  • Developing and executing a strategic business plan.
  • Proactively calling on potential clients and setting meetings to understand their unique financial goals.
  • Preparing tailored financial plans and offering useful, actionable recommendations.
  • Gaining exposure to proprietary financial planning software platforms.
  • Engaging in weekly coaching, training, and development meetings to enhance your skills.
  • Receiving support to obtain Risk Product State Licensing: Life, Accident, and Health.
  • Building essential life skills that will create future career opportunities in any field.

Qualifications

Are you the right fit for this dynamic internship? We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student; juniors and seniors are preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial ambitions and a genuine curiosity for sales.
  • High involvement on campus (e.g., leaders in student organizations, athletes, student government members, etc.).
  • Excellent time-management skills to balance academic and professional commitments.
  • A strong interest in financial literacy and utilizing planning tools.
  • Business savvy and a desire to increase critical thinking abilities.

Salary Range

USD $500.00 – USD $1,000.00 /Yr.
