About the Job: Co-op Position: College Student

This co-op position offers a broad opportunity to grow your career under the guidance of experienced Engineers and Developers.

General Responsibilities (applicable to all co-op paths):

Design and develop automation systems.
Design and develop electrical control systems that interface with process lines, manufacturing equipment, and sensors.
Architect solutions utilizing appropriate technologies, ranging from database tools to AI and User Interface tools.
• Provide clients with real-time, actionable information reports about their processes.
• Develop quality code in accordance with established RoviSys and client standards.
• Work effectively in a team environment alongside engineers and designers from RoviSys, partners, and clients.
Travel to customer sites for planning meetings, commissioning, and testing.
• Opportunity to grow into a leadership position, leading a team of engineers and technicians to provide automation and information solutions.

Co-op Paths Offered:

1. Systems Co-op Path:
Success Factors: Understanding of Process or Manufacturing Systems, relevant Co-op Experience, and Electrical or Process Knowledge.
Technologies Used: Includes DCS, PLCs, Rockwell, Siemens, Emerson, Schneider, Inductive, and Aveva.
Duties:
Design and develop automation systems.
• Travel to client plants to assess and document existing systems and connected equipment.
• Use engineering documentation like P&ID, Equipment Lists, I/O Lists, and Process Descriptions to define control schemes for clients.
Network customer systems, including Controllers, HMI PCs, Field mounted instruments, and Process Skids, to provide fully integrated control systems.

2. Information Systems Co-op Path:
Success Factors: Strong ability to understand Information System architectures.
Technologies Used: Encompasses Relational Databases and Historians (e.g., MS SQL Server, Oracle, OSIsoft), Python, VBA/VBscript/C# syntax, Linux shell scripting (Bash, make), and PowerShell scripting.
Duties:
Design and implement industry software applications to aggregate manufacturing systems information and generate reports that support business decisions.
Manually configure technical solutions and identify optimization opportunities by leveraging scripting and automation to increase process efficiency.
Install and commission systems connected to plant floor devices onsite.
• Provide support to operations personnel through effective use and maintenance of deployed solutions.
• Involves scripting and light programming.

3. Industrial IT Co-op Path:
Success Factors: A passion for networking, virtualization, and cybersecurity within manufacturing or office settings.
Technologies Used: Focuses on Virtualization, Networking, Cybersecurity, Windows, and Wireless technologies.
Duties:
Map and Design Network Architectures.
Configure and Test Infrastructure components.
Install and Commission equipment at customer sites, adhering to design specifications.
Communicate effectively with customers and the project team to define needs and design/implement solutions.

Qualifications (General for all Co-op Paths):

• Must maintain full-time student status.
• Demonstrate strong academic achievement, maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in a Technical Field, specifically related to Engineering or Control Systems.
• Possess a strong passion for problem solving and developing solutions.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without RoviSys sponsorship.
