Job Description: Co-Op/Intern

This is a full-time Co-Op/Intern position available during the Fall, Spring, and Summer seasons. The role is designed to provide top-notch applicable training in the intern’s focused area of study, offering the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in a supportive environment that encourages challenge and growth.

• Approaching daily tasks in a systematic and orderly way.

Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities (Skills to be Used):
Work alongside construction Field Managers in managing the new home build process from start to finish.
Communicate with trade partners, vendors, and customers regarding home progress.
• Complete PACE eLearning courses.
• Participate in Sapphire training to gain knowledge in scheduling, purchase order management, and warranty service administration.
Observe home orientations.
Develop and gain understanding of new home construction knowledge by completing various job scopes.

Preferred Qualifications:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related fields.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated exceptional customer service.
• Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The role requires significant physical capabilities and exposure to various work conditions:
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods and walk on various types of terrain, including uneven surfaces, construction sites (which may have mud, ruts, etc.), and residential properties.
• Utilize sensory skills (verbal communication) and technology (cellphone) for effective communication with associates and customers.
• Perform movements such as bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and grasping.
• Ability to climb permanent stairs, temporary stairs, and ladders.
• Physical strength and stamina to lift approximately 50 lbs. unassisted throughout the workday.
• Endure and be exposed to different types of conditions, including weather (heat, cold, rain, ice) and substances (dust, dirt, fumes).
• Properly use and wear provided protective gear, including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed shoes.
• Ability to travel to job sites regularly throughout the day.
