About the job description (Co-Op/Intern Role)

This is a full-time Co-Op/Intern position available across Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. The role is designed to provide top-notch applicable training in a specific area of study, offering the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in a supportive environment that fosters challenge and growth.

You will thrive in this role if you:
• Can quickly and proficiently use real data to evaluate and solve problems within organizational policies and procedures.
Enjoy daily communication with customers and trade partners, clarifying questions and concerns in a direct and factual style.
• Approach your day in a systematic and orderly way.

These skills will be used to:
Work alongside construction Field Managers as they oversee the new home build process from inception to completion.
Communicate with trade partners, vendors, and customers regarding the progress of homes.
• Complete PACE eLearning courses.
• Participate in Sapphire training to gain knowledge in scheduling, purchase order management, and warranty service administration.
Observe home orientations.
Develop and gain an understanding of new home construction knowledge by completing a variety of job scopes.

Preferred Qualifications for this role include:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related fields.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service.
• Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The role requires significant physical activity and exposure to various conditions:
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods and walk on various types of terrain, including uneven surfaces, construction sites, and residential properties with mud, ruts, etc.
• Proficiency in utilizing sensory skills (e.g., verbal communication) and technology (e.g., cellphone) for effective communication with Associates and customers.
• Capability to perform movements such as bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and grasping.
• Ability to climb permanent stairs, temporary stairs, and ladders.
• Physical strength and stamina to perform tasks like lifting approximately 50 lbs unassisted throughout the workday.
• Tolerance for and exposure to various conditions, including weather (heat, cold, rain, ice) and substances such as dust, dirt, and fumes.
• Ability to properly use and wear provided protective gear, including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed shoes.
• Requirement to travel to job sites regularly throughout the day.
