CNN Sports Intern (Atlanta, Summer 2025) Job Description:
This paid internship (35-40 hours/week, hybrid) is based in Atlanta and runs for 11 weeks (June 2nd-August 15th or June 9th-August 22nd). The intern will work closely with the CNN Sports newsgathering and production team across all platforms (TV and digital). Key responsibilities include:
• Assisting the newsgathering team by monitoring events and press conferences, identifying key moments and soundbites for use on linear and digital platforms.
• Monitoring social media for news reactions, statements, and video elements.
• Supporting the CNN World Sport show team by creating graphic elements, transcribing interviews, researching stories, and gathering video elements for editing.
• Coordinating daily game recordings, monitoring video quality and router sources.
• Copyediting anchor scripts and network banners.
• Assisting with basic administrative and production tasks.
Qualifications:
• Passion for sports and storytelling.
• Active social media engagement as a news tool.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and reliable.
• Must be a rising graduate student (18 years or older) actively enrolled in an accredited college or university with a 3.0 GPA or above.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship. Candidates on student or exchange visas are ineligible.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Haves):
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere or similar video editing software.
The internship program offers hands-on experience, mentorship from industry veterans, professional development seminars, networking opportunities, and a collaborative company culture. Interns will gain professional skills, industry insights, and valuable relationships. Relocation is not provided. Credit is not required but documentation for school credit can be provided if needed.
