CNN Sports Intern Job Description:
This summer 2025 internship, located in the Atlanta area, requires a regular in-office presence based on the intern manager’s schedule. The intern will work with the CNN Sports team, contributing to newsgathering and production for both TV and digital platforms. The team produces content for CNN’s domestic and international networks and CNN.com, including CNN International’s flagship sports show, *CNN World Sport*.
Responsibilities:
• Assisting the newsgathering team: Monitoring events and press conferences, identifying key moments and soundbites for use across platforms.
• Social media monitoring: Tracking news reactions, statements, and video content on social media.
• Supporting the *CNN World Sport• team: Creating graphic elements, transcribing interviews, conducting research, and gathering video for editing.
• Game recording coordination: Monitoring video quality and router sources.
• Copyediting: Reviewing anchor scripts and network banners.
• Administrative and production tasks: Performing basic administrative and production duties.
Qualifications:
• Passion for sports and storytelling: Demonstrated interest and knowledge of sports, with a focus on storytelling.
• Social media proficiency: Active and informed use of social media as a news source.
• Excellent communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented and reliable: Meticulous attention to detail and consistent reliability.
• Enrollment requirements: Must be a rising graduate student (18 years or older) currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher. Proof of enrollment is required.
• Work authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship from WBD. Student or exchange visas (including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc.) are not eligible.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere (or similar video editing software).
Additional Information:
• The internship program lasts 11 weeks, with two start date options (June 2nd or June 9th).
• It’s a paid internship with a competitive hourly wage (35-40 hours/week, hybrid work model).
• Relocation is not provided.
• Credit is not required, but documentation for school credit can be provided.
• Interviewing takes place from February to mid-April.
