Job Description: CNN Heroes Intern – NYC – Summer 2025

This paid internship ($19/hour USD) is based in NYC and requires regular in-office attendance aligned with the intern manager’s schedule. The internship is part of the CNN Heroes initiative, an award-winning program profiling individuals making a positive impact globally. Content is distributed across CNN’s networks, including CNN, HLN, CNN International, CNN Español, CNN.com, and social media.

Responsibilities:

• Attend weekly department planning meetings.
• Utilize CNN’s databases for video access, research, and interdepartmental communication.
• Conduct research, logging, transcribing, and assist with organizational and administrative tasks, including video and image searches.
• Develop and pitch ideas for nominations and Hero packages.
• Assist with local field shoots and tasks related to the annual Tribute Show (when possible).

Qualifications:

• Passion for news.
• Self-motivation and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Current enrollment in an accredited college or university (proof required), as a rising junior or senior (18+ years old) with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Authorization to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship. (Students on visas such as F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., are ineligible.)

Internship Details:

Duration: 11 weeks (two options: June 2nd – August 15th or June 9th – August 22nd)
Hours: 35-40 hours/week (hybrid)
Credit: Not required, but documentation for school credit will be provided if needed.
Relocation: Not provided.
