About the Job

As an Application Modernization Consultant, you will work with Google’s most strategic Cloud customers to transform their existing enterprise applications into modern, cloud native applications. This means helping them reduce time to launch, increase release frequency, reduce time to recovery, and decrease failure rate. You will advise customers on application re-design and implementation, including:

Application scaling: ensuring applications can handle increasing user traffic and data volumes.
Reliability: ensuring applications are consistently available and perform as expected.
Ongoing operations: assisting with application and feature rollouts, monitoring, and other crucial aspects of maintaining a successful cloud-based application.

You will provide consulting, technical expertise, and program management to customers while working with client executives and key technical leaders to drive adoption of modern application patterns and paradigms via Google’s Cloud Platform.

You will possess a broad skill set including:

Architecture design: creating the blueprint for how the application will be built and deployed.
Distributed systems: understanding how to design and manage applications that run across multiple computers.
Container technologies: expertise in tools like Docker and Kubernetes to package and run applications in a standardized way.
Deployment strategies: knowledge of how to move applications from development to production environments.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Be able to navigate ambiguity and solve complex problems.
• Have a passion for both technical solutions and client interaction.
• Possess excellent communication and project management skills.

You will travel up to 30% of the time, and work is primarily virtual.
