Closing Coordinator | D.R. Horton
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at D.R. Horton, a publicly traded Fortune 500 company and the largest homebuilder in the U.S. Since its founding in 1978, D.R. Horton has been dedicated to constructing and selling high-quality homes primarily for entry-level and first-time move-up markets, complementing this with essential mortgage financing and title services for homebuyers. As a Closing Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and accurate administration of all contract and closing duties. This includes meticulously preparing and maintaining closing packages, fostering daily communication with lenders and homebuyers, and diligently filing and reviewing critical closing disclosures to support the company’s commitment to seamless homeownership experiences.

What You’ll Actually Do
Closing Package Management: Take responsibility for the comprehensive preparation, meticulous maintenance, and thorough review of all closing packages. This includes accurately preparing and filing original closing disclosures, detailed plans, lender letters, and the complete purchase agreement, ensuring all contracts and paperwork are reviewed prior to closing.
Stakeholder Communication: Proactively communicate and follow up daily with a diverse group of stakeholders, including lenders, title companies, the internal sales team, and home buyers, to ensure all parties are aligned and contribute to timely and successful closings.
Closing Coordination: Expertly coordinate with mortgage and title companies, as well as attorney offices, to precisely set home buyer closing appointments. This involves ensuring the home buyer is officially notified in writing of all scheduled closing dates, supplying essential documentation such as final surveys, soil treatments, contracts, and certificates of occupancy, and coordinating the crucial key delivery process.
Data & Financial Integrity: Accurately obtain expected closing dates from construction management for all contracts and diligently update stages of completion and actual closing dates within the Homebuilders software system and Sales Report software. Furthermore, ensure the precise reconciliation of the Earnest Money Exception Report.
Administrative Support: Efficiently distribute the Stage Report to construction management, carefully file all closing documents in the designated lot file, and manage necessary bank deposits with accuracy and responsibility.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), with an ability to provide attention to detail and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Experience: Three to six months of related experience and/or training.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; strong organizational and follow-through skills; ability to work well within a team; proficiency with MS Office and email.
• Bonus: One-year certificate from college or technical school; JD Edwards experience.
