About the Company:

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency with a mission to treat and prevent substance use disorders and mental health conditions. Job Description:

High Point is offering clinical internship opportunities for students passionate about helping others within a collaborative team environment. This internship aims to provide hands-on experience, hone professional skills, and build a professional network in the field of behavioral health.

Key Aspects:

Program & Location: Internship placements are available across inpatient, outpatient, and community-based settings in Brockton, New Bedford, and Plymouth.
Education & Licensure: All continuing education must be approved by a recognized entity.
Schedule: To be determined (TBD) in consultation with the Clinical Supervisor.
Internship Availability: Placement is subject to availability and program capacity. Priority is given to High Point & SEMCOA team members, as well as students from partner institutions: Framingham State University, Springfield College, Fisher College and Bridgewater State University.

Gains Through High Point Internships:

• Attendance at High Point orientation and CEU-approved, state-mandated trainings.
• Training on compliance with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy, & HIPAA Regulations
• Weekly individual supervision from the clinical management team, as required for graduation & licensure.
• Attendance at weekly team meetings to understand daily operations, company procedures, & policies.
• Professional development in providing administrative caseload support.
• Firsthand experience in:
• Bio-psychosocial assessments
• Risk assessments
• Assisting with the orientation of new clients
• Case management
• Treatment planning
• Group & individual progress notes
• Discharge and aftercare planning
• Motivational interviewing

Student Intern Qualifications:

• All continuing education must be approved by a recognized entity.
• Must possess appropriate citizenship documentation.
• Must pass a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) check and other pre-employment documentation. High Point is a CORI-friendly organization.
• Must be processed through onboarding and attend High Point orientation.
