Job Description:
The Clinical Dietitian works closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide evidence-based medical nutrition therapy that aligns with patient-focused medical goals. Key responsibilities include:
• Assessing nutritional needs using standardized practices and critical thinking
• Acting as a resource for specialty teams and liaising with other medical specialties
• Assisting in achieving compliance with healthcare accreditation standards
• Attending medical rounds, patient care conferences, and continuing education events
• Developing, implementing, and monitoring nutrition care plans
• Documenting all aspects of nutrition care in the medical record
• Participating in the training of clinical nutrition intern students
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics from a regionally accredited university or college
• Master’s degree in a related field for new graduates becoming licensed after 1/1/2024
• Completion of a Coordinated Program in Dietetics or Dietetic Internship accredited by ACEND
• Registered Dietitian (RD) certification by The Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• Licensed as a Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) by the North Carolina Board of Dietetics and Nutrition
