Job Description: Clinical Applications Intern
What You Can Expect
The Clinical Applications Intern role is designed to provide essential support to the Biostatistics & Clinical Data Management (BCDM) department. The primary focus of this position is to contribute to the development and maintenance of software applications utilized in clinical research, with a specific emphasis on the Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS).
How You’ll Create Impact (Key Responsibilities)
As a Clinical Applications Intern, you will play a supportive role in various critical areas:
• Software Support: Assist in the testing and ongoing maintenance of clinical software applications, working under the guidance of experienced developers and analysts.
• Documentation: Support the creation and maintenance of technical processes, user guides, and validation protocols to ensure clarity and compliance.
• Requirements Gathering: Participate in sessions with stakeholders to gather and better understand business and user needs for clinical applications.
• Issue Management: Help monitor and track system issues, and assist in troubleshooting efforts under supervision.
• Data Integrity: Perform basic data checks and contribute to data validation efforts to ensure the accuracy and integrity of clinical data.
• Training Support: Observe and support user training sessions for clinical applications, and assist in the preparation of necessary training materials.

• Web Development/UX/UI (Plus): An interest in web development and knowledge of HTML and CSS, or UX/UI principles, is also a plus.
Your Background (Required Qualifications)
To be eligible for this internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Academic Enrollment: Must be actively enrolled in an academic program for the entire duration of the assignment.
• Availability: Must be available to work full-time (40 hours/week) throughout the co-op session.
• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship.
• Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, Data Science, or a related field.
• GPA: A minimum GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred.
Travel Expectations
This role may require minimal travel, up to 5%.
