What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Attorneys: Provide comprehensive administrative and substantive legal support to multiple attorneys specializing in commercial litigation, assisting with various aspects of case management to ensure effective handling of caseloads within a multi-jurisdictional practice.
• Manage Filings: Meticulously prepare, format, and accurately e-file a wide array of legal documents, including pleadings and motions, in both Arizona state and federal court systems, strictly adhering to all applicable court rules, deadlines, and e-filing protocols.
• Calendar and Case Management: Proactively manage and maintain attorneys’ complex calendars, coordinating appointments and hearings. Systematically track critical case deadlines and organize comprehensive physical and electronic case files, ensuring easy retrieval and adherence to firm standards.
• Document Preparation: Draft professional and precise legal correspondence, memoranda, and various legal documents, such as initial drafts of pleadings and discovery requests, under attorney supervision. Ensure all documents are accurate, properly formatted, and reflect the firm’s high standards.
• Communication: Facilitate clear, professional, and timely communication with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel. Convey information regarding case statuses, scheduling changes, and document exchanges, while maintaining appropriate decorum and confidentiality for all interactions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Career level: Experienced. Possesses strong domain knowledge in civil litigation, specifically commercial litigation. This includes a comprehensive understanding of court rules and civil procedure relevant to both Arizona state and federal jurisdictions.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of direct experience providing legal assistant support in commercial litigation. Proven practical experience with successful electronic filing procedures in Arizona state and federal courts, including familiarity with specific platforms and requirements, is essential.
• Skills: Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are paramount for managing complex legal documentation and schedules. High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with document management systems is required. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a demanding and professional legal environment.
