Job Title: Civil Engineering Intern or Co-op
Location: Bellevue, Washington
Job Summary
Langan is seeking a collaborative and enthusiastic Civil Engineering Intern or Co-op to join its Bellevue, Washington team. This role is pivotal in supporting site feasibility studies, which may encompass field work, technical report preparation and calculations, pre-construction conditions documentation, and the development of design plans and specifications. As an intern/co-op, you will have a unique opportunity to expand your technical knowledge and professional skills by partnering directly with industry leadership on a variety of exciting land development projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects.
- Aid in the preparation and modification of various engineering documents, including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans, utilizing engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and equipment.
- Effectively use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data, evaluating their impact on project planning and design.
- Support zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments; assist with sidewalk cost estimations; and determine project feasibility based on collected data analysis.
- Provide field inspection services as needed.
- Apply knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics to project tasks.
- Collaborate effectively with team members on project tasks and assignments.
- Perform other duties as requested to support project objectives.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled student actively pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
- Ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment.
- Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits, and a valid driver’s license in good standing.

Compensation Details
The estimated hourly range for this Civil Engineering Intern/Co-op role is $20.00/hr – $27.00/hr. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm’s annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time, and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience, and level.
