About the Opportunity: Internship Program (Launching 2026)

This is an exciting opportunity to participate in Mott MacDonald’s brand-new internship program, launching in 2026. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience across a variety of impactful projects within a leading engineering consultancy.

Key Responsibilities

As a participant in this program, your responsibilities may include:

  • Designing engineering solutions.
  • Conducting site inspections and monitoring.
  • Joining project and client meetings.
  • Refining technical designs and documentation.
  • Analyzing reports and specifications.
  • Exploring project and client management principles.
  • Leveraging digital tools and innovation.
  • Driving sustainable outcomes in project work.
  • Building connections through our Early Career Professionals Network.

Required Qualifications & Skills

To be considered for this 2026 internship opportunity, candidates will need:

  • Progress towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in your chosen field through previous internships, volunteering opportunities, or organization memberships.
  • Creative thinking skills, coupled with a methodical and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficient communication and presentation skills to engage confidently with clients and colleagues.
  • A resilient, solution-oriented mindset, focused on continuous growth and delivering value.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships and rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A collaborative spirit and commitment to teamwork.

Location & Working Model

  • This position is located in Orange County, CA.
  • You must be able to reliably commute to our office in this location, per our hybrid working policy.

Salary Information

The expected salary for this position is $18-$35 per hour. Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
