About the Opportunity: Exclusive Hiring Event

AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Raleigh, NC on February 25th and 26th, 2026. This event provides a unique opportunity for highly motivated students and recent graduates to connect with AECOM for early career opportunities, specifically for positions starting in Spring/Summer 2026.

February 25th (Evening): The event kicks off with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm. Attendees will have the chance to hear directly from AECOM staff about diverse projects, career paths, and the company culture. It’s an excellent occasion to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from various business lines.
February 26th (Day): Interviews will take place at our Raleigh office. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage directly with hiring managers and learn more about potential career paths.

AECOM is specifically seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineering Intern to join our Water team in the South Carolina area. This internship is expected to begin in Summer 2026.

Key Responsibilities of the Civil Engineering Intern:

Under the supervision of an experienced engineer, the Civil Engineering Intern will contribute to various aspects of project development and execution, including:

• Building and refining analytic and design skills.
• Conducting fundamental engineering design tasks.
• Creating designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.
• Collecting and analyzing pertinent data.
• Utilizing computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
• Performing work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule.
• Conducting construction site visits and inspections under the guidance of an experienced construction inspector.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree program in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Must have the intent to continue enrollment after the internship.
• Must have completed at least 3 years of study in the relevant degree program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior related internship experience.
• Experience using technical software such as CADD, MicroStation, and ArcGIS.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Pursuing a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and/or Environmental Engineering is a plus.
