Job Description: Civil Engineer – Mid-Atlantic Energy Evolution Practice
VHB is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its dynamic Mid-Atlantic Energy Evolution Practice. This role offers the chance to work on diverse energy projects, ranging from renewable energy initiatives to significant infrastructure transformations. The position contributes to advancing clean energy goals and making a positive impact on sustainable energy development.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with a team of professionals to develop civil engineering plans and specifications for energy and land development projects.
• Conduct fieldwork individually or in pairs to gather data, record measurements, and capture site photos/videos.
• Create plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Assist in preparing land entitlement and permitting documents.
• Develop reports that present design calculations.
Skills and Attributes:
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Capacity to effectively coordinate engineering tasks within a project team, integrating design and developing deliverables.
• Strong computer skills with experience or familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
• Experience or exposure to stormwater design software such as PondPack, HydroCAD, StormCAD, AutoCAD S&S Analysis, or similar programs is desirable.
• Self-motivated, critical thinking skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
Qualifications:
• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• 0-1 years of land development/civil engineering internship/co-op experience (preferred).
• 1-3 years of land development/civil engineering experience (preferred).
• Prior land development design experience (erosion control, stormwater management, and site grading) is preferred.
• EIT certification is preferred.
