The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is the formal governing body for the United States Democratic Party.

Job Description:

The DNC is offering a Fall 2025 Civic Engagement & Voter Protection Internship Program. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Democratic politics, strengthen understanding of the political process, and prepare for future political opportunities. The internship will run from September 8, 2025 – November 14, 2025, in a hybrid format. Interns based in the Washington D.C. area will have the opportunity to work in-person at the Democratic National Headquarters and DNC events. The internship is open to applicants located in the United States.

Department Summary:

The Civic Engagement and Voter Protection Department aims to ensure every eligible voter can cast a ballot and have it counted. The department focuses on a year-round approach to expanding voting access and combating voter suppression, researching voting rights and election administration issues, organizing voter protection programming and events, including state compliance with federal election laws, redistricting, and legal and legislative developments on the state and national level.

Internship Responsibilities/Duties:

• Attend mandatory onboarding/offboarding sessions.
• Conduct research.
• Draft memos.
• Organize events.
• Assist with managing the year-round Voter Hotline.
• Develop the team’s online and social media presence.
• Manage volunteer efforts.
• Speak to voters nationwide through the Voter Hotline.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age on or before the first day of the internship.
• Must meet at least one of the following criteria:
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a college, community college, or university (two-to-four year institution). Completion of at least one full term prior to application is highly recommended.
• Graduated from such a program no more than two years before the first day of the internship.
• A veteran of the United States Armed Forces who possesses a high school diploma or its equivalent and has served on active duty, for any length of time, in the two years preceding the first day of the internship.
• J.D. students are preferred but not required.
• Must meet all of the following criteria:
• Commitment of 20 hours per week during the program.
• Physically present in the United States to participate in the internship program.
