Job Description:
This is a three-year chiropractic residency position focused on providing neuromusculoskeletal medicine patient care for both acute and chronic pain conditions at Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and Community Health Centers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Patient Care: Evaluate and manage patients, directly supervise patient care administered by chiropractic students and neuromusculoskeletal medicine residents at FQHCs/community health centers and hospitals. Maintain accurate patient records.
• Training & Supervision:
• First year: Rotate one day per week with a clinician educator or a senior resident.
• First and Second year: Complete the 300-hour online Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine program.
• Second year: Supervise rotating chiropractic clerks.
• Third year: Supervise rotating chiropractic clerks and first-year chiropractic residents.
• Documentation & Billing: Maintain patient charts, billing records, and time sheets as required by the FQHC, federal and state law, and University policy. Assign patient billing to the FQHC. Comply with Medicaid, Medicare, and other pertinent laws and regulations.
• Compliance & Credentialing: Attain and maintain credentialing with assigned FQHC, which includes current vaccinations.
• Education: Complete all education requirements by the FQHC.
• Meetings & Reporting: Attend and participate in FQHC medical staff meetings and regular meetings with chiropractic residents. Submit monthly patient statistics and hourly time sheets to the program director.
• Continuing Education: Attend and present at neuromusculoskeletal medicine (NMSM) continuing education programs.
• Safety: Conduct all work in a safe manner and adhere to all work safety practices.
• Other duties: Similar or related work as required, directed, or as the situation dictates. Continues professional development and training and assists other department staff as needed.
Qualifications:
• Licensed as a chiropractic physician in the State of assigned FQHC.
• Meets credentialing requirements of Federally Qualified Health Center (offer of employment contingent upon credentialing).
• Graduate of a CCE approved School of Chiropractic (Medicine).
• Enrolled in the online, Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine program.
• Strong interest in community health and chiropractic education.
• Previous experiences as a chiropractic clerk within a FQHC facility (Preferred)
• Published in peer reviewed journals (Preferred)
