Chief Financial Officer | Finatal
The Tone:
This is a full-time, hands-on, and high-impact role at Finatal, supporting a recently acquired, private equity-backed tech-enabled services platform. This business operates as a scalable non-asset-based model in logistics and transportation brokerage, currently generating approximately $300M in revenue. With a clear value creation plan, the company aims for significant growth over the next five years, backed by an experienced sponsor focused on organic expansion and building infrastructure for a materially larger platform at exit. The incoming Chief Financial Officer will be commercially oriented, partnering closely with the President, CEO, and sponsor to upgrade financial visibility, strengthen forecasting, enhance performance management, and scale the business in an entrepreneurial environment. Candidates should be based in the Eastern or Central time zone.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Finance Infrastructure: Evaluate, build, and scale the finance function, enhancing reporting, budgeting, forecasting, month-end processes, and professionalizing systems and controls to support a growing national platform and future exit readiness.
• Performance Management: Lead FP&A and performance management, creating greater transparency into revenue drivers, productivity, margins, and overall business performance.
• Strategic Insights: Partner with leadership to improve decision-making through actionable financial insights, scenario planning, and KPI development, directly supporting the value creation plan.
• Cash Flow Optimization: Drive cash flow discipline and working capital management across a high-volume, transaction-driven operating model.
• Investor Relations: Manage banking, lender, and investor relationships, including liquidity planning, capital structure support, and ongoing stakeholder communication.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current Chief Financial Officer with executive-level experience in scaled, low-margin business models, specifically within private equity-backed environments.
• Experience: 15+ years of relevant financial experience, with a proven track record in private equity-backed companies.
• Skills: Demonstrated expertise in operational finance, including FP&A, working capital management, and performance improvement within a growth-oriented setting; adaptability to lean, entrepreneurial environments with evolving processes; strong executive presence coupled with effective partnership skills with management and investors.
• Bonus: Prior experience in the Transportation & Logistics (T&L) or industrial services sector; previous experience successfully supporting a company exit.
