Big Bend Community College (BBCC) is seeking Certified Flight Interns to support its Aviation Program.
Job Description:
Big Bend Community College is seeking Certified Flight Interns (CFI) to work closely with full and part-time faculty to support the academic needs of students in the college’s Aviation Program.
Key Details:
• Position Type: Part-time, temporary.
• Reporting To: Director of Flight Operations.
• Hour Limit: Maximum of 1050 hours in any twelve consecutive month period.
• Tenure: Not subject to tenure, and service time does not apply to the full-time faculty salary schedule.
• Student Restrictions: Individuals in CFI positions may not be full-time students of BBCC and may not be enrolled in more than 5 credits per quarter at BBCC.
• Ongoing Recruitment: Applications are collected year-round, and positions will be filled as needs arise.
CFI Level Descriptions and Pay Rates:
• CFI Level I ($19.50/hr.):
• Responsibilities: Pre and post flight briefings, fly schedule as assigned, students in stages 1-3, and assist with other flight line activities as requested.
• Requirements: COMM ASEL and CFI-ASE.
• CFI Level II ($20.45/hr.):
• Responsibilities: Pre and post flight briefings, fly schedule as assigned, students in stages 1-7, and assist with other flight line activities as requested.
• Requirements: COMM ASEL, CFI-ASE, and CFI-IA.
• CFI Level III ($23.52/hr.):
• Responsibilities: Pre and post flight briefings, fly schedule as assigned, Stages 1-7, Instrument CFI and Multi as needed, and assist with other flight line activities as requested.
• Requirements: COMM ASEL, CFI-ASE, CFI-IA, 4 quarters of CFI experience, and at least 400 hours in 141 teaching.
